Yes, if your practice is covered by HIPAA: a BAA comes with every plan, Free and the trial included. You accept it while setting up your practice, before any patient details are sent. Veterinary practices aren't covered by HIPAA, so they don't need one, and their records get the same encryption, access controls and audit trail.
So you see everything before you choose. When your trial ends, pick Solo: you keep every tool except the ones built for a team.
If you've picked a plan, it starts that day. If you haven't, your practice moves to Free. You keep working with other practices, and your patients' history stays. Paid tools pause, including your referral form, and teammates other than the Primary Admin lose access until you choose Teams. We email you 7 days and 1 day before, so it's never a surprise.

Any time. Teams has unlimited users for one flat price, so adding someone never changes your bill. On Solo, move up to Teams whenever you need; you pay the prorated difference that day.
Yes, from your billing page. Moving up to Teams starts now, and you pay the difference for this period. Moving to yearly starts today, less credit for the rest of your month. Moving down to Solo, or to monthly, starts when your period ends.
In your billing settings, any time, no call needed. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for, then your practice moves to Free. Change your mind before then and you can resume it.
Payments aren't refundable, except where the law requires. When you cancel, you keep your plan to the end of the period you paid for. That's why the trial is 45 days and needs no card.
Because it takes two practices. Working a referral together is free on every plan, and a practice that isn't on Syncroly opens it with a free account. You pay only for the tools that grow and run your own office. Patients don't need an account.
